Sanctions

Bailiwick of Guernsey Sanctions Legislation gives domestic effect to measures taken by the UK and UN. The Bailiwick's Sanctions Regime is completely separate from and operates independently of that in other jurisdictions.

The administration of the Bailiwick's Sanctions Regime is the responsibility of the Policy and Resources Committee. Under the Sanctions (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2018, there are specific reporting obligations applicable to businesses that are subject to the Bailiwick of Guernsey regime for anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing.

Sanctions Notices, when issued by the Policy and Resources Committee are circulated by the FIU via THEMIS. A record of existing Sanctions Notices can be found on the website of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission by following the Sanctions Notices link on this page.

Information regarding sanctions regimes currently in force is set out by country on the States of Guernsey website and can be accessed by following the Current Sanctions Regimes link on this page.

Guidance on Reporting Obligations in relation to sanctions has been published by the Policy and Resources Committee, which can be found by following the Guidance on the Reporting Obligations link on this page.
